Personal Import

Any product released as a personal import with a value of over $75 is subject to VAT.

Tax calculation in accordance with the law is based on the product value (as declared by the shipper) plus the value of transportation and insurance.

To clear the goods from customs, several fees may be required:

  • VAT, customs, purchase tax and other such taxes to be paid to the Tax Authority.
  • Storage fees, computer fees, security fees, etc. to be paid to cargo terminals, Airports Authority, etc.
  • Handling and clearance fees, customs agents’ service fee and other such fees to be paid to courier companies, the Chamber of Commerce, customs agents, etc.
  • In some cases, the shipper or retailer website prefers to prepay the taxes and fees and includes these expenses in the product price paid by the customer.

  • Handling fees for obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Transport for personal import – 59.90 NIS
  • Handling fees for obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Health (pharmacy) for personal import – 59.90 NIS
  • Handling fees for obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Health (Food Service) for personal import – 14.90 NIS
  • Handling fees for obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Agriculture for personal import – 94.90 NIS
  • Shipments to the Palestinian Authority  – “The cost of handling and release to the Palestinian Authority” – 129.90 NIS
  • Handling fee *Special delivery –99.90 NIS

(*) A special delivery is a shipment that requires an irregular release process (eg. minor, foreign resident, immigrant, security screening check, etc.).

Computer and security fees (depending on the shipment value)

Shipments worth 100$-500$ require a computer fee of 21 NIS

Shipments worth 500$-1000$ require a computer fee of 21 NIS + security fee of 47 NIS

Shipments worth 1000$ and above require a computer fee of 42 NIS + security fee of 47 NIS

Cargo Terminal fees (Maman/Swissport) – The Cargo terminal is a customs-controlled body that provides storage, import and export services under.

Tax Authority – Customs operates according to regulations and orders set by the State, which specify the tax rates and legal aspects of import (special permits required for release of cargo imported to Israel). On the Tax Authirity’s website, you can review the taxes required in accordance with type of imported product – Tax Authority.

Pricelist – Personal Import

Shipments released as commercial imports are usually subject to VAT, taxes and fees.
